Flexible magnetic sheets, 8.5" x 11", 0.5mm thick, 50 sheets per pack. One side is a full-coverage magnetic face. The other is a smooth white PVC coating that takes glue, adhesive vinyl and mounted prints without buckling.
These are the sheets we use in our own Illinois workshop when a job does not call for a button press. If you want to make magnets without buying a machine, this is the shortest route to a finished product.
Specifications
- Sheet size: 8.5" x 11" (US Letter)
- Thickness: 0.5mm
- Magnetic face: full coverage
- Back face: smooth white PVC coating
- Pack size: 50 sheets
- Cutting: scissors, craft knife, rotary trimmer or die cutter
What people make with them
Photo magnets. Print your image on photo paper, mount it to the PVC side with a spray or roller adhesive, then trim to size. This is the method most home magnet businesses start with.
Business card magnets. Ten cards fit comfortably on a single sheet, which puts the material cost of a magnetic business card at a few cents.
Save the date and announcement magnets. A letter sheet yields four 4" x 5" announcements with room for trim.
Signage, labels and organisers. Whiteboard labels, shelf tags, tool outlines, classroom manipulatives and locker decor.
Die-cut shapes. At 0.5mm the sheet feeds through most consumer die-cutting machines. Test one sheet on your settings before running a batch.
How to get a clean result
- Let prints dry. Inkjet output needs a few minutes before mounting or the adhesive will lift the ink.
- Roll, do not press. Lay one edge down and roll across to push air out ahead of the sheet. Pressing flat traps bubbles.
- Cut slightly inside the image. A 1mm bleed keeps white edges from showing if your cut wanders.
- Store flat. Rolled magnet sheet keeps a memory of the curve and will not sit flush on a fridge door.
Magnetic sheets or a button machine?
Both make magnets, and they suit different work.
Sheets cost nothing to start, handle any shape or size, and are the right answer for rectangles, one-off jobs, large formats and low volume. The trade-off is that every magnet is hand-trimmed, so quality depends on your cutting and the edges are exposed.
A button press costs more upfront and locks you into fixed sizes, but it seals the artwork under mylar, produces an identical rounded edge every time, and turns out a finished magnet in seconds rather than minutes. If you are selling at volume, the press pays for itself in labour.
Plenty of makers run both. See our button maker machines if you are weighing the upgrade.
Frequently asked questions
Can I print directly onto these sheets?
They are not sold as inkjet-printable stock, and we do not recommend feeding them through a printer. Print on photo paper and mount it. You get better colour and no risk to the printer.
How strong is the hold?
A 0.5mm sheet holds its own weight plus a photo print on a steel fridge door without sliding. For anything heavier, or for a vertical steel surface with vibration, step up to a thicker stock.
Will they stick to my fridge?
They stick to steel. Stainless steel fridges vary: many stainless finishes are non-magnetic on the door face. Test with any magnet before ordering in quantity.
Can I cut them with a Cricut or Silhouette?
Usually yes, with a deep-cut blade and multiple passes. Settings vary by machine, so run a single test sheet first.
Do they leave marks?
No. The PVC face is smooth and will not scratch appliance finishes.
Ships from Palatine, Illinois.
Why Choose PVC Coating?
The PVC-coated back adds an extra layer of strength and protection, making these magnets:
